need ford escort tech help
my son inlaw has a 98 ford escort with the zx2 engine. it bogs at low rpm but will run good at higher rpm. the cat isnt plugged, we drove it with it unhooked
and the engine acts the same.
but the funny thing is, it only will build 60 psi on a compression check, where i would think 120+ would be the norm. it does have the variable cam timing feature, could this be screwy maybe reading rpm wrong and not letting the valves to close like a longer duration in a high rpm setting ...
